Tia Ja’nae, award-winning cult classic author of the critically acclaimed “Ghosts On the Block Never Sleeps” debuts her new thriller, Flicking the Bic
In her latest release, author Tia Ja’nae takes readers inside the world of Jean-Max Renaldo, a Quebecois savant (originally featured in Vern Smith’s award winning novel Scratching The Flint) in her latest release Flicking The Bic. The Toronto based novel navigates the underbelly of the GTA during the rise of Renaldo, who is making a name for himself establishing dominion over the city’s rackets. This no holds barred intimate portrait of Renaldo’s trials and tribulations in a city he despised for its Anglophone influences and culture examines Jean-Max’s struggles before he was known as the ruthless and feared man he was destined to become.
An accomplished writer, Tia Ja’nae’s theatrical work Loose Squares was nominated for a Pulitzer Prize in Drama and is currently in rehearsals in collaboration with award winning actress Verna Hampton’s ensemble Puddingstone Creatives. Her short stories have appeared in prominent publications, including an award nomination by WSFA for her story Meat On The Bone (via Hugo nominated Cirsova Magazine) and a Pushcart Prize nomination for her work in Pulp Modern. A satirist at heart, Tia Ja’nae is a contributor to several humor magazines as well as her hip-hop archive, ‘The Cypher Of Articulate Madness’.
